Artist Residency at Etnia House of Arts August 2026, Venice

Selected by an international jury of art professionals for the participation in the artist residency of Etnia House of Arts in Venice August 2026.
Hosted within the historic Chiesa dell'Abbazia della Misericordia, the residency brings together a selected group of artists for a week of creative exchange and interdisciplinary dialogue.
Throughout the residency, the public is invited to engage with the creative process and observe the development of the works on site. The resulting artworks are subsequently presented in museums and galleries worldwide.

The glasses become a physical expression of metamorphosis: something old is shed without disappearing entirely. Like second-hand clothing, La Mue considers how something once lived can be preserved, transformed and carried into a new form.
La Mue explores transformation not as a clean break, but as a process of carrying traces of what came before. Fabric is given a new life through the eyewear, forming a flower suspended between growth and decay and exploring ideas of rebirth, memory and renewal.
